I grew up on my grandfather’s farm in Madison County VA, near Oak Park. I have lived in Madison County nearly all my life. I feel this has influenced my artwork because many of my pictures are of scenes or objects that I see every day or remember from my childhood. I am intrigued by the colors, shapes, and shadows of country life. My style is realistic and predominantly watercolor, but I also paint with acrylics. I am a past artist member of the Virginia Watercolor Society and have exhibited in 5 of their shows. Having recently retired, I plan to do more with my art and look forward to learning from other members of the Firnew Farm Artist Circle.
